5.5KM TRAIL RUN
The run follows Tarawera Road for 500m, before turning right down the Blue Lake single track foreshore trail. At the end of this trail runners arrive at the south end beach of the Blue lake where runners will climb the stairs up to the lookout point parking lot. From this point runners head back into the forest for 1km following back along the side of the Blue Lake to the completion of 1 lap.
The run course is a mixture of flat, small rolling hills and stairs. There is single and double track trail and open dirt road. Some of the single and double track trail is a bit more technical as it has some loose rock. These sections are not very long, but require extra attention. They are completely runable.
AID STATIONS
Approximately at 2.5km
Water and R-Line electrolyte drink.
